Stepping Stones of the Spey
This festival aims to promote local culture by highlighting the rich but often little
known stories and folk culture of the Speyside area.
Professional story telling artists host each weekends activities at
various venues throughout September 2007.

Aberlour
SECRETS OF SPEYSIDE
Saturday 1st - Fleming Hall 10am – 5pm
Scottish Story Telling Yurt. This stunning felt covered nomadic
tent willl be the home of a series of workshops, stories, music and
celebration during the weekend.10am - 12pm. Storytelling Workshop for Adults with Margot Henderson.
12pm - 1.30pm. Fun with Feltmaking. A free workshop for Adults & Children
1pm - 2pm. Drumming & Percussion workshop with rhythms from West Africa & Latin America for Adults.
2pm - 3pm. Stories in the yurt for Children with Margot.
3pm - 4pm. Drumming & Percussion workshop for Children with Carol Scorer.
4pm - 5pm. Stories in the yurt for Children with Margot.
Under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note - If Children over 8 are left at workshops parental consent forms must be filled in.
Sunday 2nd - 10.am - 11.30am
Felt making Workshop at the Fleming Hall.
Aberlour Graveyard 12.30pm
Storywalk to Linn Falls with Margot Henderson.
Meet at the graveyard gates beside the Old Packhorse Bridge.
(Dress for moderate length walk appropriate to Scottish weather conditions!)

“Fit Like the day” – Pat Fraser & Friends – Doric poetry traditional Scots music and songs.

“Are you sitting comfortably” – Storytelling and Drumming workshop.

Sunday 16th - Dufftown Community Centre 11.00am – 12.30pm
Story telling workshop for children with Bob Pegg.
8 - 17 yr olds (parental consent forms must be filled in)
1.30pm - Storywalk to Balvenie Castle.
Balvenie Castle Storywalk leaving from Dufftown Memorial Gardens
at 1.30 and finishing at Glenfiddich Artists Gallery with music by
Charlie Bremner & John Gaine. Parking available at Glenfiddich Car Park.

Sunday 30th - Aberlour Graveyard 12.30pm
Storywalk across the Spey with Peter Valance. Meet at the gates to
Aberlour Graveyard beside the Old Packhorse Bridge.
Finish the walk at Still Life Studio with Refreshments & folk music for a final festival fling.
